Falmouth Road Race: Information for 2018

The race will begin on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at 9:00 in the morning. Accomodation for runners and their families is available from Friday, August 17 through Sunday the 19th (see below). Our pre-race celebration will be at the hotel Saturday night.

The race begins in downtown Woods Hole, on Water St. near the Woods Hall Community Hall. The finish line is on Grand Ave. in Falmouth near Bristol Beach. Buses to the starting line will leave from Lawrence Junior High School, 113 Lakeview Ave. in Falmouth, between 5:45 AM and 7:45 AM. See the interactive map below for course details.

WEEMA reserved the entire Ocean View Motel in Centerville, MA for our runners (total of 10 rooms). The hotel's address is: 966 Craigville Beach Rd, Centerville, MA 02632—about a 45-minute drive from the starting line and 30 minutes from the finish line. The hotel is located right on the water and runners and their families will have easy access to the public beach!  Motel rooms are FREE for runners.

All runners are required to raise a minimum of $1500 to support WEEMA programs (including a $175 deposit to reserve a number.) WEEMA runners will fundraise through our team site: give.weema.org/falmouth. Once you've created and customized a page, you can share your personal fundraiser with friends and family. We're happy to offer fundraising advice too, so please feel free to ask us for suggestions!

Runners can pick up their numbers from Falmouth High School Field House, 874 Gifford Street Ext.
Falmouth, MA 02540. Available pickup times are: Thursday, August 16, 5 PM to 9 PM; Friday, August 17, 10 AM to 9 PM; and Saturday, August 18, 9 AM to 4 PM. Numbers cannot be picked up on race day. Runners can pick up their numbers themselves, or can send somebody else (they must have your race number, a copy of your photo ID, and their photo ID). WEEMA runners will receive comfortable WEEMA-branded singlets to wear during the race.

The Falmouth Road Race follows a 7-mile seaside course from Woods Hole to Falmouth Heights, Massachusetts. The Race began in 1973 and has evolved to become one of the country's top annual running events. More than 10,000 people run the race every year (12,800 last year), attracting over 75,000 spectators. Many runners participate on behalf of a cause they care about, and WEEMA is proud to have a team of supporters running to help support our community-based programs in Ethiopia.

The top WEEMA fundraiser in 2018 will win a ticket on Ethiopian Airlines!
